Tropical Storm Alberto Update #1
Tropical Storm Alberto has formed near the South Carolina coast. Currently, Alberto has a minimum central pressure of 998 mb, resulting in maximum sustained winds of 60 MPH. Current forecast calls for Alberto to remain relatively stationary over the next 48 hours, before starting to drift to the north-northeast on Monday. With the storm being relatively stationary, cooler water is expected to upwell in the area which will lead to slow weakening of the storm eventually becoming a tropical depression by Tuesday, and a remnant low by Wednesday. At this point, the only threat to land appears to be heavy rainfall being possible (depending on track) over the North and South Carolina coasts.
